FRP Pultruded profiles

FRP Pultruded profiles are suitable for a wide range of applications, industries and constructions, offering many advantages over traditional materials such as wood, steel or aluminum. FRP Pultruded profiles are strong, lightweight, long lasting, easy to build on site and require zero maintenance. They are also suitable for the most demanding environments, which would cause corrosion in traditional materials.

The standard range of our FRP Pultruded profiles includes (available in various dimensions): Equal angle, Square tube, Round tube, Cylindrical, square or polygonal beam, I shape, T shape, Η shape, U shape, Bone shape.

Benefits of FRP Pultruded profiles over Wood

The most obvious advantage of FRP products over wood is that they do not rot, mold or warp due to weather conditions or exposure to moisture. They are also not at risk of insect infestation, such as termites and unlike wood when wet, FRP products are non-conductive, making them much safer materials for various electrical applications. Another key advantage of them is that, although lighter than structural timber, they are much stronger and more rigid. FRP products are also resistant to corrosion, so you do not have to apply costly coatings, preservatives or membranes on them, as you would if you were using wood.

Benefits of FRP Pultruded profiles over Steel

The three biggest benefits of FRP products over steel are non-conductivity, corrosion resistance and the fact that they are up to 75% lighter (although equally or stronger than steel). These properties have a huge impact on providing security, lower long-term costs and better design, depending on the applications for which they are intended.

Unlike steel, FRP products are non-conductive, both thermal and electrical.

With FRP products you have all these benefits without the stress of rust or the cost of replacing corroded and oxidized materials due to weather conditions, humidity or chemical exposure. Steel often requires painting or galvanizing to be preserved. Because of this, FRP products often have a lower life cycle cost than steel. Another advantage is that FRP products are transparent to radio waves or EMI/RFI transmissions. This often makes them the optimal solution for many types of radio, radar and antenna applications. In addition, FRP profiles can be built with simple tools and do not require welding and because they are lightweight, they are easier to install without the need for special lifting equipment. Finally, with proper treatment from the factory can also be fire retardant.

Benefits of FRP Pultruded profiles over Aluminium

While aluminum is heavier and has high thermal and electrical conductivity, as well as low corrosion resistance, FRP products offer just the opposite: they are lightweight, non-conductive (thermal and electrical) and highly resistant to corrosion. Also, FRP products are about 30% lighter than aluminum.

Although aluminum products are strong, FRP products are more impact resistant, while aluminum can easily dent and deform under impact. The cost of aluminum may be comparable or even lower than FRP products, but due to the corrosion and flexibility of aluminum, the overall long-term cost of FRP products is lower.
